Our recipe has just got better. We’ve swapped out salmon oil and replaced it with linseed oil.

Here’s why…

Introducing Linseed Oil

At the beginning of this year, we made a small change to the Hoddy’s recipe. We’ve swapped out salmon oil and replaced it with linseed oil. It’s not a huge change, but it’s an important one for us.

At Hoddy’s, we’re always trying to do things in the most sustainable way possible. A lot of salmon oil used in dog food comes from farmed salmon, and that’s something we wanted to move away from where we could.

Linseed oil felt like the right alternative. It’s plant-based, more sustainable, and still offers great nutritional value for dogs.

Why linseed oil?

Linseed oil is naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are really important for your dog’s overall health. It helps support healthy skin and a good, shiny coat, which is especially important for working and active dogs. It can also help with joint support thanks to its natural anti-inflammatory properties, and it’s known to be gentle on digestion too. For dogs that might be a bit sensitive to fish oils, it can be a really good option.

Always improving, staying true to what we do

We’re always looking at ways to keep our recipe as good as it can be, but without losing sight of what Hoddy’s is all about. For us, that means producing a premium quality dog food that stays true to traditional principles.

We use wild British game that would otherwise go to waste, helping to support the field sports industry while also being as sustainable as possible. This change is just one small step in that direction, and we’ll keep making improvements where we can.
